JMU Fieldschool 2005

The JMU Archaeology Field School of 2005 stands back to appreciate the endeavor of a summer field season spent revealing evidence for the yard of the Field Slave Quarters at OR333.

Montpelier hosts two archaeological field schools every summer: James Madison University (May-June) and SUNY Plattsburgh, and five Archaeology Expeditions. Participants learn basic excavation techniques and exercise their problem-solving abilities to piece together the clues they encounter during excavating and surveying.
