Syllabus for JMU Field school
The James Madison University archaeology field school has a long history at Montpelier. For over twenty years students have come to James Madison's Montpelier to gain a basic understanding of archaeological field techniques and how these are applied to understanding the function and use of a site. Students spend around three-quarters of the program in the field digging, with additional time spent in the archaeology lab and classroom. This multi-faceted approach has been designed to promote a comprehensive learning experience.
