Prehistory at Montpelier (< 1723 A.D.)

Montpelier's 2,700-acre property contains approximately 50 Native American sites, mostly from the Late Archaic period, and consisting principally of short-term or seasonal sites such as hunting camps.  You can find examples of the artifacts recovered from such sites at the Archaeology Laboratory.
