Richmond-area public, private and home-schooled students are invited to participate in a Constitution essay challenge. The “We the Students Essay Challenge” invites individual students representing elementary, middle and high schools to submit an original essay of not more than 300 words responding to a prompt about the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Essays will be judged by a panel of representatives from the Foundation, the Richmond Times-Dispatch and educators from The Center for the Constitution at James Madison’s Montpelier.  All submissions must be original works. However, teachers and parents are encouraged to assist students with preparation of their essay. All essays must be typed and double spaced.
