The Temple Wedding

When you choose the Temple Wedding, you will be married outdoors right in front of the famed Madison Temple, built by James Madison in the 1800s in the mansion's beautiful north yard. Your guests will be seated in chairs on the lawn, and your reception will take place in a tent just behind the wedding location in view shed of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

At the Temple, Montpelier will provide:
- Use of the north lawn
- Use of Madison's Temple
- Electricity
- Water

At the Temple the wedding party will provide:
- Tent
- Table and chairs
- Portable toilets
- All food, drink, china, silverware, napkings, tablecloths, flowers, band, etc.
- Any other necessary items
The mansion can be opened for 1½ hours during the event if desired at a cost of $500.
