SUMMARY:Constitutional Crafting: Wreath Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Bring history home for the holidays with a wreath filled with greenery from James Madison’s Montpelier! \nJoin us Saturday, December 12 at 10 am for Constitutional Crafting: Wreath Workshop led by our Horticulturist, Robert Myers in partnership with Westwind Flowers! Guests will hear how Robert brings the historic, holiday-spirit to Montpelier through creating the mansion’s swags and taking care of our gardens. They will then be led in creating their own festive masterpieces, utilizing greens gathered from the property, by Stacey from Westwind Flowers. \nFollowing the workshop, guests will be led to the Mansion to take a photo of their wreath and learn more about the property and where their supplies were gathered. \nTickets for James Madison’s Montpelier Members are $75 and non-members $85. Members need to email kkuper@montpelier.org ( mailto:kkuper@montpelier.org ) for the discount code.\nPlease note, tickets go off sale a week prior to the event on December 4. \n*ALL supplies will be provided for this workshop! Please just bring yourselves and the holiday-spirit! \n\nRobert Myers, Horticulturist \nRobert joined Montpelier’s horticulture department in 2019 and spends many happy hours “in the field” tending the Annie duPont Formal Garden as well as other areas of Montpelier’s 2600+ acre campus. He works with local Virginia Master Gardeners on garden maintenance and related projects. He also collaborates with local Virginia Master Naturalists on stewardship projects in the Landmark and Demonstration Forests and seasonal walks. Robert became an ISA Certified Arborist in 2023 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2004.\n \nStacey Chapman, Westwind Flowers Farm & Studio\nStacey Chapman is the owner and creative mind behind Westwind Flowers, a small, family-owned specialty cut flower farm in Orange County, Virginia. Stacy believes the flowers in your vase should be just as locally sourced and fresh and the food on your table. Throughout the year, the floral arrangements she creates are thoughtfully designed to reflect the seasons and complement life’s special moments. During the growing season, her farm provides the majority of the blooms she uses. In the off-season, Stacey sources sustainably grown flowers from other local and national growers. On any given day, you can find Stacey in the flower field in the morning and, in the afternoon, at her studio at 112 S. Faulconer St. in Gordonsville. Follow Westwind Flowers on social media or visit westwindflowers.com to learn more about the flowers Stacey grows and the floral services she offers. \n
