In his time, art was more than decoration. Paintings, objects, and design choices helped people express who they were and what they valued.\nJoin us for a hands-on family program at Montpelier, where we’ll take a closer look at the art and objects found in select rooms of Madison’s home. Together, we’ll explore questions like: What is art? Why do people create decorative objects? And how can art and everyday items help us understand people and the world around them?\nAfter exploring, families will have the chance to create their own work of art inspired by Montpelier to take home!\nContent Note: Some artworks in the house feature unclothed human form as part of classical artistic traditions.
