Home Bird Discovery Walk
Three birds are depicted: a woodpecker on a tree, an indigo bunting on a stone, and a cardinal on a branch, each in natural settings.

Bird Discovery Walk

Join Montpelier’s Horticulture Department and Beverly Arnold, Orange County Coordinator, Virginia Bluebird Society, for a walk of ornithological discovery. We explore the various habitats around the garden, grounds, and forests looking and listening for Montpelier’s feathered residents and their migratory friends. We will also discuss some of the landscape features that attract and sustain healthy bird populations.

Beverly is an experienced birder and bird-bander who enjoys sharing her love of birds and the natural world they live in with others. This walk is for bird enthusiasts of all experience levels and ages. Bring binoculars if you have them.

In case of rain, Beverly will offer an indoor presentation about Eastern Bluebirds and the other native cavity-nesters that use the bluebird nest boxes placed throughout Montpelier.

Space is limited! Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes; terrain may be rough in places.
