Enjoy an early morning birdwalk, exploring remote areas of Montpelier's 2,700-acre property that are rich in natural beauty, bird habitats, and Madison-era history. Montpelier is visited by over 100 species of birds each year, making us an ideal spot for birdwatching!

The walk will be led by Dr. Drew Lanham, Alumni Distinguished Professor of Wildlife Ecology at Clemson University and renowned naturalist, ornithologist, and author; and Dr. Matthew Reeves, Director of Archaeology and Landscape Restoration at Montpelier since 2000.

Begins at 7:30 AM at the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
