To mark the 236th anniversary of the Constitutional Convention, Montpelier’s Center for the Constitution and Independence National Historical Park are teaming up for a joint virtual program. Known as the Father of the U.S. Constitution, James Madison spent months in deep study at his Virginia plantation before attending the Convention at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
