Enslaved Community Tour

Over 200 human beings were enslaved here at Montpelier during the Madison period. Walk with us through a village where slaves lived, into the cellars and past the fields where they worked, and to the cemetery where they now rest. Along the way, learn about their individual stories, their families, and their often complex relationships with the Madisons. The tour will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Visitor Center. (admission + $5 or $10 alone.)
