This one-hour, behind-the-scenes experience gives you an intimate look at how Montpelier's curators acquire objects for the House, through archaeological and documentary sources, context, and the objects themselves; the meaning of the objects during the Madison-era period, and the artisans. Discussion may include artwork, furniture, decor, and artifacts.

The Mere Distinction of Colour exhibition (included in the price of admission) and the David M. Rubenstein Visitor Center close at 5:30 PM. Please allow enough time prior to your 4:30 PM tour time to enjoy these spaces!
