From Charlottesville, VA

Take VA-20 N (Stony Point Rd) 8 miles before turning right to stay on Co Rd 600/VA-20 N/Stony Point Rd.
Continue to follow VA-20 N to the stop sign.  Turn left onto US-33 W/VA-20 N/Spotswood Trail. Take the 1st right onto VA-20 N/Constitution Hwy.  In approximately 8 miles the Montpelier entrance will be on your right.
Your journey should take about 30 minutes.

Take Route VA-29 N to Ruckersville, VA. Turn right onto Spotswood Trl/US-33. Turn left onto Constitution Hwy/VA-20 N. In approximately 8 miles the Montpelier entrance will be on your right.
Your journey should take about 38 minutes.

From Washington, D.C.

From 66 west, merge onto US-29 south, EXIT 43 towards Gainesville/Warrenton. Continue approximately 38 miles to exit US-15 toward Culpeper/Orange. Turn left onto US-15 S/US-15-BRS/Orange go 17 miles turn right onto West Main St. (US-15/VA-20-BR) onto Route 20 south. Go approximately 4 miles the Montpelier entrance will be on your left.

Or take I-95 south towards Fredericksburg merge onto VA-3 west, EXIT 130B towards Culpeper. Travel approximately 13 miles and turn left onto VA-/Constitution Hwy20 south, continue for 22 miles to the town of Orange turn right onto Caroline St/US-15/VA-20 go .03 mi. then take left onto W. MainSt/VA-20. Go approximately 4 miles the Montpelier entrance will be on your left.
Your journey should take approximately 2 hours.

From Richmond, VA

Take I-64 west to US-15 exit, EXIT 136, towards Gordonsville/Palmyra, turn right onto Route 15 north towards Gordonsville continue approximately 12 miles, enter roundabout and take 2nd exit, N Main St/US33/VA-231. Turn slight right onto Blue Ridge Turnpike/VA-231. Continue approximately 6 miles. Turn right onto Constitution Hwy/VA-20. Go 3 miles and Montpelier entrance will be on your right.
Your journey should take approximately 1-½ hours.
