Arboristry Two-Day Archaeology Expedition

During this special two-day program, we will be mapping and identifying the trees in a woodlot that contains the Montpelier Burial Ground of the Enslaved. The portion of the woodlot that we will be working is where the Montpelier Descendants Committee is planning a memorial to be built to honor their ancestors buried in the adjacent cemetery.

Learn species identification with an an arborists and master naturalists.

Learn how to read the forest for clues to decipher and interpret the historic landscape.
