- Special VA250 Experience
Celebrate 250 years of American Independence with two special experiences from VA250. - Colonial Chocolate Demonstration
Historian Dontavius Williams will present a colonial chocolate-making demonstration in the reconstructed kitchen in Montpelier’s South Yard, highlighting the historical connections between chocolate production and American slavery. This presentation is made possible by the Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Chocolate History Grant. - Trades Festival & Archaeology Demonstrations
Interact with Montpelier’s Archaeology team and expert tradespeople as they demonstrate the range of trade expertise of the enslaved at Montpelier. This trades festival includes Carpentry, Blacksmithing, and Log Cabin Construction. - Montpelier Passport Adventure
Kick off your adventure with a Montpelier Passport—stamp your way through interactive stations tied to the U.S. Constitution and claim a special souvenir at day’s end! - Community Partner Exhibits
Connect with local organizations and community partners exploring civic engagement and the enduring values of the Constitution.

- Madison Panel Discussion
Join scholars from James Madison University for a special panel discussion in the Grand Salon. Additional details coming soon.
Starting at 11:00AM – Barbecue Exchange will have a limited menu for purchase in the Visitor Center cafe.
Guided House Tours
Explore the Madison home through themed guided tours led by Montpelier’s interpretation staff.
Please note: Guided tours are the only way to enter the house during this event and require an additional ticket purchase. Tour schedule and registration details will be announced soon.
